Key Management System

We design and supply Key Management System that provide secure, automated, and traceable control over physical keys used in industrial, utility, and facility operations. Our systems integrate advanced HMI and PLC control to ensure that only authorized personnel can access critical keys, improving safety, accountability, and operational discipline.

Our Capabilities Include:

  • Custom Design & Engineering: Panels configured to suit specific site requirements, featuring modular architecture for varying key quantities and access levels.
  • HMI & PLC Integration: Touchscreen-based interface for user authentication, key allocation, and real-time system monitoring with full audit logging.
  • Access Control & Security: Supports RFID, biometric, or PIN-based user identification, ensuring secure key release and return operations.
  • Data Logging & Traceability: Automatic recording of user activity — capturing who accessed which key, when, and for what purpose — with reporting and export options.
  • System Interfacing & Networking: Optional integration with SCADA, DCS, or plant access control systems via Modbus or Ethernet for centralized monitoring.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Complete panel assembly, wiring, functional testing, and site commissioning for seamless deployment and reliable operation.

Our HMI-Based Key Management Panels are ideal for oil & gas plants, power stations, manufacturing facilities, transportation hubs, and critical infrastructure, offering a smart, automated, and tamper-proof solution for secure key handling and personnel access management.

WHAT IS A KEY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A Key Management System Panel refers to an industrial control panel equipped with a Human–Machine Interface that is designed to securely control, monitor, and manage physical or operational keys (such as those used in machinery, control rooms, or industrial processes).

It’s different from digital cryptographic key management — here, we’re talking about physical key management in industrial or operational environments, often in oil & gas, power plants, railways, defense, or process industries.

Definition

A Key Management System Panel is a smart, automated panel that uses a touchscreen HMI and electronic locking system to store, release, track, and monitor physical keys or access authorizations in a controlled way.

It integrates sensors, solenoids, controller and HMI for centralized control, making the key management process automated, secure, and auditable.

How It Works
Advantages
Application
  • User Authentication → Operator logs in using a password, RFID card, or fingerprint.
  • Key Selection → HMI displays available keys and their status.
  • Authorization Check → System verifies if the user has permission to access that key.
  • Key Release → Corresponding lock or solenoid is energized, releasing the authorized key only.
  • Key Return → When the key is reinserted, the system automatically logs the return.
  • Data Logging & Reporting → Every action is recorded — time, date, user, and key number.
  • Centralized and automated key control
  • Prevents unauthorized access or key misuse
  • Full traceability (who used which key and when)
  • Integrates with SCADA or plant DCS for security alarms
  • Reduces dependency on manual supervision
  • Easy, touchscreen-based operation
  • Oil & Gas plants – Control room keys, valve lockout keys.
  • Power plants – Turbine, switchgear, or control access keys.
  • Manufacturing units – Machine access and maintenance keys.
  • Railways / Airports – Secure zone or equipment access management.
  • Defense / Laboratories – Restricted equipment or weapon storage access.
  • Facility Management – Centralized key control for large campuses or hotels.

Main Components

Component

Function

Human–Machine Interface

Touchscreen display for operators to log in, view available keys, and issue or return them.

Controller

Controls key release, monitors door status, and logs activities.

Key Slots / Holders

Mechanically or electronically lock keys in place until authorized release.

Electromechanical Locks / Solenoids

Secure each key position; released only after verification.

Authentication System

Can include RFID, biometric, or PIN login to ensure authorized access.

Status Indicators / Sensors

LED or proximity sensors to detect key presence or removal.

Audit & Logging System

Records all key transactions (who took which key, when, and for what).

Communication Module

Optional — for Ethernet/Modbus communication with central monitoring software.

Integration Possibilities

  • SCADA / DCS for remote status monitoring
  • Access Control Systems (RFID, biometric, PIN)
  • Audit Database (export logs to USB, network, or server)
  • Industrial Networks (Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP)

In summary:

A Key Management System is a smart, controlled, and touch-operated unit that provides secure, trackable, and automated control of physical keys — combining industrial automation with access security.
